Today there are many different product types of camcorders. What used to be simple camcorder has now become Dual Flash Memory, mini DV, Flash Memory, HDD or Hard Disk Drive, HD DVD and HD Flash, as-well-as DVD. Other than the different product types, many of the features remain constant. These include Image Sensor, Total Pixels, Recording time, Effective Pixels, Programmed AE, Lens, Maximum Shutter speed, Close Focusing Distance, Optical zoom, Audio, Focusing system, Image stabilization, LCD screen, minimum Lux, White balance and viewfinder. Other things to consider in camcorders are weight, size, power consumption and weather capability. Finally you have to remember how you are going to digitally transfer that information to TVs and computers.
