The internal 20 watt sound system (with simulated surround sound) is decent for built-in speakers; however, if you want great sound, invest in good speakers and a Dolby Digital A/V receiver… you won't regret it.
ValueIt appears that Panasonic is building many of their new models with a 1080p resolution instead of 720p. While in theory 1080p is better, you likely will not see a difference. In general, if you can select a 720p version Panasonic plasma, you will save some money but it appears this choice will not be available. FeaturesWhile this model is listed that it can achieve the highest resolution (1080p), in reality it can display 1080p, 1080i (interlaced), 720p, and 480p (approximately regular progressive DVD quality). The built-in Integrated ATSC digital tuner can be used to receive many of the HD signals available in most cities. You can still use a separate set-top box (HD digital cable or satellite) and bypass the internal tuner. The 3 HDMI inputs will allow for flexibility when attaching high resolution electronics (including many Blu-Ray HD DVD players). SummaryThe Panasonic TH-50PZ85U Viera High Definition plasma television is one of the newest plasmas for 2008. It can display up to 1080p resolution. Pros
