Panasonic DMP-BD35K: Review
The Panasonic DMP-BD35K Blu-ray Player features 1080p output and is BD-Live compatible (allows you to access special content from the web that is associated with the disc you are viewing). This excellent player also features an HD audio decoder for 7.1-channel surround sound and Panasonic's Viera Link for remote control compatibility with other Viera Link devices.

The DMP-BD35K also features Panasonic's exclusive PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus for true-to-life colors, and an SD picture card slot for viewing photos from your digital camera and watching videos from your digital video recorder. The unit features 1080p upconversion of your existing DVDs, and a host of I/O options including HDMI out, component video out, video out, 2 channel audio out, an optical digital audio output, and an Ethernet port for connection to your home network.

Rating:  5.0 out of 5

Value

Given the feature set and high build quality of the DMP-BD35K, it's an excellent value for the street price. Performance is excellent as well, adding further to the value. It has enough connection options to be compatible with the latest HD gear, yet is also compatible with your existing analog equipment. Most users who have purchased the DMP-BD35K report excellent audio and video quality, fast loading times, and overall ease of setup and use.

Performance

The DMP-BD35K features excellent video and audio performance. It displays 1080p HD content with stunning clarity, and the 1080p upconversion of existing DVDs is better than most other players. This is an important aspect, as many players do not handle the upconversion process well at all - DVDs just don't look right on most players with upconversion. The BD-Live capability is an excellent feature, and there are enough I/O options for you to maximize you new as well as existing equipment.

Summary

Panasonic has done a great job with the DMP-BD35K, and it's easily a best-in-class Blu-ray player. And it's available at a price that won't break the bank. It does an outstanding job of delivering a true HD experience, even with your existing DVDs. If you're ready to take the step up to a Blu-ray player, the DMP-BD35K definitely should be on you short list.
