The LG 50PS60 is a 50 inch Plasma 1080p HDTV that brings high-quality viewing enjoyment for your favorite TV shows. In addition to advanced Active Color management, this plasma TV has features like XD Engine, 600Hz sub-field, Pure Black level, ISM (Image sticking minimization) and 3D Digital Comb Filter. The display is also THX calibration certified with THX Cinema Sound; one of the highest standards. For this Plasma, the colors burst from the screen and refresh rates are very high. You can also enjoy high-quality - including surround sound - audio from its invisible speaker. For your convenience, it has several inputs and jacks that you can use to connect your other electronic devices (such as a digital camera or a DVD player).

The 50PS60 is characterized by Super Bright Panel and 600Hz Smooth Motion. This TV can receive Digital Over-the-air/Cable signals without an external digital set-top box. However, if you do receive digital signals from a digital set-top box or other digital external device, you must connect the set-top box to this TV. When you connect your PC to this TV, the PC can adjust the settings automatically to the TVs setting; thanks to the Plug and Play capability of LG 50PS60. It also has Simplink to play and control other AV devices connected with HDMI cable without additional cables and settings.

Features

Feature wise, the 50PS60 provides parental control to block specific channels, playing music from MP3 files stored from a USB storage device or preset picture settings. Choose from Vivid, Standard, Cinema, Games, Sports, Expert 1 and Expert 2 as your preferred choice. In addition, Image Sticking Minimization (ISM) minimizes image sticking (where a frozen still picture displayed on the screen for prolonged periods can result in a ghost image). You can use Orbiter (in the Option menu) to help prevent image sticking.

Performance

LG delivers high-performance when it comes to images. It can adjust the contrast to keep it at the best level according to the brightness of the screen. It can also adjust the screen colors so that they look livelier, richer and clearer. Other performance enhancements techniques include: Black Level, Gamma, Color Gamut Edge enhancer and White balance. The Film mode (3:2 Pull Down) makes video clips recorded in film look more natural by eliminating the judder effect. You use film modes for DVD and Blu-ray movies that are filmed at 24 frames per second.
