Viewsonic VP2650wb: Review
Review: Viewsonic VP2650wb

The Viewsonic VP2650wb
is a professional grade 26" widescreen TFT LCD color monitor that features advanced color control. It features 1920x1200 resolution, a contrast ration of 1000:1 static and 4000:1 dynamic, and a 3ms refresh rate. Designed for professional use by graphic artists, photographers and others in the multimedia field, it comes with Viewsonic's exclusive PerfectSuite Plus software for completely accurate color control.

The unit features a 160-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle, a brightness level of 400cd/m², and an anti-glare screen surface. In addition, there's a 15-pin analog/digital connector which supports VGA and DVI formats. It also features an integrated 1 up/4 down USB 2.0 hub and a complete OSD menu system for control over display settings.

Rating:  5.0 out of 5

Features

The VP2650wb has all of the features you're likely to need in a professional grade monitor. It's been ergonomically designed for use in multiple monitor setups, and the advanced menu system and color setup software ensure professional color accuracy. The fast 3ms refresh rate ensures smooth motion in videos, and the 400cd/m² brightness level ensures an excellent image under a wide variety of lighting conditions.

Performance

The VP2650wb is particularly strong on performance in two areas - color accuracy and brightness. The included software makes matching color output to printers and scanners a snap, and the output of the monitor ensures the ability to use it in almost any lighting situation. The VP2650wb also gets high marks for a very user-friendly OSD menu system with a convenient control layout.

Summary

If your living depends on a quality color monitor, the VP2650wb deserves a hard look. There are cheaper 26" monitors on the market, but few match the performance of this one. And Viewsonic provides a 3-year parts and labor warranty, which includes the backlight, on their professional grade monitors. You might pay a little more for the Viewsonic, but the cost savings of an extended service plan more than makes up for the difference.
