The Viewsonic VLED221wm widescreen LCD monitor has many exciting features. The mercury-free LED backlight uses less power than most 22-inch screens in the market today. This will not only help with the environment but also with your energy bill. The monitors optimum resolution of 1680x1050 combined with Viewsonics OptiColor technology will display rich and clear documents and photographs for your viewing pleasure.

The monitor comes standard with a 15-pin mini D-sub and DVI-D (with HDCP) input giving you the option to use analog or digital signal. With a response time of 5ms (typ) and viewing angles of 170º horizontal and 160º vertical this monitor will provide many enjoyable hours of watching movies or just doing your day to day tasks.

The Viewsonic VLED221wm comes standard with a three-year limited warranty. The monitor comes with two 2.5 watt speakers using Viewsonics SRS WOW HD sound. In listening to the speakers you will find them to be average. The one thing you will like about having the speakers built-in is that it will provide you with more real estate on your desk however if sound is very important I would suggest investing in a external pair of speakers with sub. Included with the monitor is a 15-pin VGA video cable, DVI-D cable and audio cable.

Features

The Viewsonic VLED221wm monitor comes with a user friendly OSD (on screen display) control which automatically adjusts the image, brightness and contrast (you can also do this manually). The Viewsonic monitor is PC and Mac compatible. The monitor comes in glossy black with a stylish slim-bezel design which makes this monitor stand out.

Summary

The Viewsonic VLED221wm sets up great expectations for LED technology but falls short. This is one of the better 22-inch LED monitors on the market, with the picture brighter and sharper than a budget competitor. But price is hurting this monitor. Yet Viewsonic has created affordable LED technology, and that's quite a step in the right direction.
