BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ OC Graphics Card: Review
Review: BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ OC Graphics Card

Designed expressly for HD gamers and HD video, the BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ OC Graphics Card (BFGR981024GTXPOCE) features an overclocked processor right out of the box. With 1.0GB of DDR3 ram, a PCI Express 2.0 interface and NVIDIA PhysX technology, the GeForce 9800 GTX+ provides for extreme 3D gaming.

The graphics card also features NVIDIA SLI technology, which allows for two 9800 GTX+ cards to be used in the same machine, sharing the graphics load and doubling the power. The 9800 GTX+ features the latest in air-cooled technology, dual DVI connectors and compatibility with the latest in HD video and Blu-ray disc content. It also offers hardware acceleration of HD video and picture-in-picture content and excellent scene-optimized contrast and color enhancement.

Rating:  5.0 out of 5

Features

The GeForce 9800 GTX+ is designed to take advantage of the latest features available in 2 and 3D gaming and HD video content. The card comes complete with a DVI to VGA adapter, an HD component video breakout cable, and a dual 4-pin single peripheral to single 6-pin PCI express power adapter. The card is compatible with the latest in HDPC (High Definition Protected Content) technology, and provides one of the fastest gaming experiences available under Windows Vista.

Performance

The GeForce 9800 GTX+ offers superb performance for a very reasonable price. It has enough power to support extreme gaming, intense video editing or HD content viewing. The built-in NVIDIA SLI technology allows it to work in conjunction with the GPU on your compatible motherboard for even more graphics processing power. And the card offers power savings with NVIDIA's HybridPower technology, which allows the lower-power motherboard GPU to take over for less graphics intensive applications.

Summary

If you're putting together an extreme gaming, intensive video editing or media center machine, then the GeForce 9800 GTX+ deserves a hard look. It packs a lot of punch for the street price. It's air-cooled and power friendly, so you can use it in some systems which otherwise wouldn't handle this much graphics card. And it uses the latest NVIDIA graphics technology across the board. All in all an excellent offering from BFG.
