All of the drivers feature Infinity's Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD) construction, which uses driver cones of aluminum anodized with a ceramic material. This produces a drive cone that is light weight yet strong. The tweeter is mounted in a Constant Acoustic Impedance (CAI) waveguide, which improves high frequency response. Frequency response of the speaker is 40Hz to 30KHz. The C336 features 8 ohm impedance, 91dB sensitivity and 250 watts power handling capacity.
QualityThe C336 features a high build quality throughout. The cabinet is well constructed and is available with a gloss-black or cherry wood finish. The drivers, due to their CMMD construction, feature very high build quality and should last even when driven at high power levels. Infinity is known for building high-quality speakers, and the C336 is no exception. PerformanceThe C336 is an elegant speaker with excellent performance. It delivers excellent resolution, a natural tone balance, and a wide dynamic range. The speaker delivers high-end performance at a mid-range price. Sound quality is good enough for a mid-range stereo system, yet the speaker is shaped ideally for use as front speakers in a surround system. About the only thing you might want to consider is the low-frequency response of 40Hz - if you want truly room-pounding bass you might prefer a speaker that gets down to 20Hz. SummaryIf you're putting together a mid-range stereo system or surround sound system, the C336 definitely deserves a look. It's a very handsome speaker that delivers excellent performance. It is a bit pricey, so if you're on a budget you might want to look at Infinity's budget priced Primus series. Pros
