The NWZ-X1061FBSMP features noise-canceling digital circuitry, supports multiple high-quality video formats plus a variety of audio formats and has both touch panel and traditional buttons for operation of the unit. The unit also features drag-and-drop functionality - simply drag music, pictures and videos on your computer desktop and drop them onto the player. The player comes with 100 free music downloads from Sony Music.
ValueWhile the NWZ-X1061FBSMP X-series Walkman packs a lot of features into a small package, it's a bit on the pricey side. With built-in Wi-fi, it rivals the iPod Touch and the iPhone, but lacks the applications available for these devices. The unit costs about the same as a 32GB iPod touch and does not offer as much functionality. That being said, the Sony is a full-featured video/MP3 player that produces excellent sound and image quality. The OLED screen is a joy to watch, and the touch screen interface performs flawlessly. FeaturesIf Sony would open this device up to third party developers, they might have a serious competitor to the iPod Touch, but the lack of applications keeps it from being a serious contender. However, it has all the features you're likely to need in a video MP3 player, and actually performs some functions better than the iPod. The OLED display is a cut above the iPod's, and the sound quality is Sony all the way. It comes with a set of very good noise-canceling headphones that produce excellent sound. SummaryIf you need a dedicated video MP3 player, the Sony makes an excellent choice. If you're looking for a more PDA-type device, then you'll probably want to look elsewhere. But as a video MP3 player, the performance and storage are excellent, and you get Sony sound and quality built-in. All in all a very good offering from Sony. Pros
