It features Magellan's exclusive One Touch favorites menu, spoken street names and turns, and a built-in Traffic Link receiver with free updates for life. Other features include a touch screen interface, built-in AAA Tourbook and AAA Roadside Assistance.

The unit also features highway lane assist for freeway driving, QuickSpell with SmartCity destination entry and multi-destination routing with route optimization. Rating:  3.8 out of 5

Value

The RoadMate 1475T represents an excellent value in a full-featured widescreen GPS. It never ceases to amaze me the features Magellan can pack into a unit for a reasonable price. The RoadMate 1475T is very powerful, has a large, easy to read display, and is compact enough to use as a handheld unit. It has most of the features offered by the competition, plus a few that are unique to Magellan. And the lifetime free traffic updates from Traffic Link alone make this unit worth the price.

Performance

The RoadMate 1475T is strong on performance. The unit has a large, bright LCD widescreen and the user interface is very intuitive. Navigation is easy with the touch screen interface, and the display can be seen from a comfortable distance. The spoken street names and turns means you can keep your eyes on the road. The QuickSpell with SmartCity makes entering a destination easy, even if you're not sure of the spelling. Overall the unit features very high level of performance for the price.

Summary

If you're in the market for a widescreen automotive GPS, the RoadMate 1475T definitely deserves to be on your short list. The unit is full-featured, easy to use and powerful. And the lifetime free Traffic Link updates make it one of the best buys on the market. All in all an excellent offering from Magellan.
