Bose 201 review: Series V Direct/ Reflecting speaker system with Bose Stereo Everywhere
Consumers who want their multimedia to sound just like a live performance should consider buying the Bose 201 Series V Direct/ Reflecting speaker system and Stereo Targeting tweeters. This speaker set is especially useful if you have tight spaces, such as a wall shelf. Based off the pioneer architecture of the Bose 901 Direct/Reflecting speakers in 1968, these modern speakers are more crisp and realistic than ever before. Although this particular model seems to have mixed reviews, if you are looking for compact speakers manufactured by a trusted audio electronics company, consider the Bose Series V 201 Speakers.

Each speaker measures 13.75" x 8" x 8.63" and weighs approximately 11 lbs. Each Bose Series V 201 speaker exclusively includes a long excursion 6-1/2 woofer and sensitive two-stereo targeting tweeter. The speakers are trim, stylish, and complementing to any decor. They are ideal for small living spaces or even your office, and especially work well with either stereo components or home theater devices. Thanks to unique port geometry, the bass sounds very crisp and tight, though other brands of speakers seem to compete better in such frequencies.

Rating:  4.0 out of 5

Value

Though the complaints seem far and few between, the majority of negative responses regarding these speakers are that the speakers do not seem to offer as much quality as the price suggests. Bose is clearly one of the more veteran audio device manufacturer and certainly one of the best, but many consumers feel let down when it comes to the 201-V speakers. Of course, some of the negative experiences could have resulted from room acoustics not being matched properly.

Features

With these Bose speakers you can enjoy lifelike, spacious stereo sound without all the bulkiness of typical loud speakers. In regards to realism, you know that during live concerts, listeners hear a mix of direct and reflected sound arriving from different directions and at different times. Bose's Direct/Reflecting sound technology uses the walls and flat surfaces of your room to match the sound in a concert hall. Whether it is DVDs or vintage records, you'll enjoy larger-than-life spaciousness in all points of your room. The Bose Stereo Everywhere design lets you enjoy full stereo sound throughout the listening area, no matter where you position yourself.

Summary

Considering these speakers are small, it is a surprise that they can stand next to bigger and more expensive speakers and sound just as pleasant. Some consumers may purchase these speakers with high expectations, so do not let the price tag fool you. There are several clarity and bass frequency issues, but most users won't notice. If you are a big fan of Bose products, then the Bose Series V 201 Speakers would be a great addition to your audio device collection.
