Apple stunned the world when the company released their 13.3" Apple MacBook Air MC234LL/A notebook, which is one of the thinnest and most versatile laptops ever manufactured. This model is the more powerful of the two customizable MacBook Air computers, but even still, it is priced quite reasonably. Even with its thin size, this model it features a 2.13GHz Intel processor, NVIDIA graphics, and AirPort Extreme WiFi. Fueled with a 5 hour battery life and packed with plenty of capabilities for people on-the-go, the MacBook Air is the ultimate portable machine. At just 0.76" x 12.8" x 8.94" and 3 lbs, the Apple MacBook Air MC234LL/A is in a series that pioneered the ultra-thin notebook revolution. This model is the first of its kind in the world, offering performance near the power of larger laptops in a smaller thickness and lighter weight. Although it doesn't come with an optical drive and lacks ports, the MacBook Air is perfect for the frequent traveler or college student.
FeaturesAs far as features go, there are a limited number of functions to this model because Apple was focused on manufacturing an ultra-thin Mac. Even still, we are quite impressed. The 13.3-inch LED display is supported by discrete NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with 256MB dedicated DDR3 RAM, which is great for watching and editing movies. There is a MiniDisplay port for connecting an external monitor. Aside from the MiniDisplay port, there is an audio-out port and one USB 2.0 port. This particular model is backed by a 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2GB RAM, which is incredible considering the thinness of this notebook. Storage, of course, is slightly space-limited; therefore, a 128GB SSD has been installed. The integrated webcam and microphone are standard, but some standard features (like an optical drive) are missing. This laptop does feature excellent wireless capabilities, however, such as integrated Bluetooth and AirPort Extreme 802.11a/b/g/n. Because the MacBook Air series is the beginning of the next miniaturization revolution, consumers can expect more features on future models. ErgonomicsThe Apple MacBook Air MC234LL/A and its counterpart made headlines when it became the world's thinnest notebook. This was especially stunning because both of these computers functioned better than laptops of yesteryear, yet the size and weight was significantly lower. The MacBook Air is one of the most ergonomic notebooks ever manufactured, primarily because of its sleek unibody and impressive thinness. Although this laptop misses out on some great features (removed for more compactness), it is overall a great machine to carry. SummaryNaturally, a notebook as sleek and thin as the Apple MacBook Air MC234LL/A is going to cost you an arm-and-a-leg, but if you want an ultra-thin laptop, then consider this one. It lacks several "standard" features, but it boasts others, such as Bluetooth and wireless-LAN (802.11a/b/g/n). The overall design is ingenious, and this ultraportable has paved the path for a future of ultra-thin, ultra-versatile notebooks. This particular model is not weak, but there is room for improvement that we're sure to see Apple work on in future models. Pros
