Epson WorkForce 600 All-in-One Printer: Review

The Epson WorkForce 600 All-in-One Printer is a printer, scanner, copier and fax machine with Wifi and Ethernet connectivity for shared use. Aimed squarely at the small business/home office market, the WorkForce 600 has been designed for a heavy workload. Print speed in draft mode is a fast 38ppm for black or color and 27ppm for laser quality output.

The printer uses a 4-color ink system with high capacity cartridges. An extra-high capacity black ink cartridge is also available. The WorkForce 600 features a built-in 2.5 color LCD, memory card slots for all popular memory card media, and PictBridge compatibility for directly printing photos from a PictBridge compatible camera. The unit can print photos directly from memory cards without a PC. One-touch scanning and copying is also available.

Rating:  5.0 out of 5

Value

At its current street price, the Epson WorkForce 600 is an excellent value in a shared printer for your home or small office. It's a true workhorse, with printing and copying speeds to keep up with a heavy workload. The high capacity ink cartridges save on the cost of ink and mean less time spent changing cartridges. Color and black and white document quality is excellent, and the unit produces quality photo results as well.

Performance

The WorkForce 600 delivers outstanding performance, especially when you consider the price. It's built to take a beating, and makes an ideal shared printer in a medium-duty home office or small office environment. It performs similar to a laser printer at a much lower price. And it's a true all-around office machine, thanks to the scanner, fax and memory card slots. Print speeds are best in class, and the Dura Brite ink technology produces immediately touchable documents and photos.

Summary

If you're in the market for a new shared all-in-one printer, the Epson WorkForce 600 definitely deserves to be on your short list. You can't beat the price given the features, and this printer should save you money on supplies. The build quality is above average, so it should stand up well to a heavy office workload. An excellent offering from Epson.
