Features

This set boasts a motorized power swivel stand that turns out to be almost never used. The plasma screen enables you to see clearly from many angles, so turning the TV is something that rarely happens. The remote is basic and not high quality, but that can be replaced. The many picture adjustments really help the overall picture quality, making this a good HDTV.

Performance

The TV sets up easily, using the remote and the setup wizard. This TV features a TV Guide On Screen System to navigate, which is not intuitive to use. If you have a satellite or cable box, you won't be using this feature. The real problem with this set is in the display. The images are slightly blurred along the edges and there is a distinct problem with horizontal lines. On this model, colors were slightly muted and the image lacked the pop associated with high quality HD. The speakers performed adequately and the surround sound provided decent quality sound.

Summary

This is a good HDTV and is especially good for someone with basic needs. The picture is good, but not great, however if you don't watch a lot of HD TV and HD movies, this would be a good buy. With the swivel base, you're paying for something you will probably never use. This TV would be a solid purchase, if you can find it for a low enough price.
