HP Pavilion w1907: Review
Review: Hewlett Packard (HP) Pavilion w1907

HP has released a new 19" flat panel TFT LCD widescreen monitor, the HP Pavilion w1907. The monitor uses HP's Brightview technology for brilliant picture quality. The W1907 features dual inputs - a DVI D digital interface and a traditional VGA interface for full support of today's available display formats.

Featuring a resolution of 1440x900 and a wide aspect ratio, the display supports HD and HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) content. The W1907 features MyDisplay which provides one-touch control of brightness, color and contrast. For multimedia support the display features bottom-mounted integrated speakers and microphone. The true widescreen display format allows for viewing of side-by-side applications simultaneously.

Rating:  5.0 out of 5

Value

The HP Pavilion W1907 represents an excellent value for the price. It features the latest in digital display technology, and provides a true wide angle viewing experience. You can easily rotate your regular view to portrait mode for viewing long web pages and documents, overcoming the limitations imposed by some widescreen monitors. And the dual inputs ensure compatibility with the two major display formats currently in use. The 1000:1 contrast ratio provides excellent video quality even in brightly lit office environments.

Features

The HP Pavilion W1907 has all of the features you're likely to need in a widescreen flat panel display. The TFT technology ensures maximum brightness and viewing angles. The display can be tilted vertically from -5 to 25 degrees, and has a viewing angle of 160 degrees both vertically and horizontally. It features support for horizontal scan rates from 55-75Hz, and vertical scan rates from 30-83kHz. There's also a plug and play Kensington cable lock port. User controls include video input selection, brightness, contrast and color.

Summary

If you're in the market for a widescreen flat panel display, be sure and give the HP Pavilion W1907 a look. If you haven't used a TFT LCD display, you'll likely be surprised at the vivid colors and high contrast. Whether you need it for office applications or gaming, the HD quality video display produced by this monitor is excellent.
