The C205 features Infinity's patented CMMD (Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm) technology for improved accuracy and reduced distortion. The tweeter has also been improved, featuring a patent-pending Constant Acoustic Impedance waveguide that delivers extended high frequencies up to 40Khz. The C205 loudspeaker boasts an overall frequency response of 55Hz to 40KHz, and can be powered by as little as 10 watts, yet can handle up to 125 watts.
PerformanceThe C205 has an impressive set of specs for a loudspeaker in this price range. And the speakers deliver surprising performance for their size. The 5-1/4 inch driver delivers full mid-bass response, and the improved tweeter design extends highs beyond the range of hearing. The C205s are capable of performing well when used as stereo speakers, or can be used as front or rear speakers in a surround system - they produce excellent results in either situation. ErgonomicsThere's no doubt about it, the C205 is a handsome speaker. And the size gives a lot of flexibility in placement. The C205s measure 7-1/2 inch wide, 15-1/8 inch tall, and 9-1/4 inch deep. The cabinet features either gloss black or cherry wood accents highlighted with a silver band, and the top is angled and faces forward. The edges and corners are rounded, which prevents it from having a boxy look. SummaryIf you need an excellent pair of stereo speakers or a set of high-quality surround speakers, the C205s definitely deserve a look. They prove the point that a good loudspeaker does not have to cost thousands of dollars. The C205s deliver impressive performance, are small enough to allow flexibility in placement, and are very easy on the eyes. Pros
