JVC DLA-HD750: Review
The JVC DLA-HD750 is a full HD D-ILA front projector with 50,000:1 native contrast ratio, 2x motorized zoom lens HQV Reon-VX video processor, three D-ILA devices, and on screen gamma control. This projector offers the highest native (doesn't rely on an iris mechanism to maximize contrast in a scene) contrast ratio available and creates a full high definition experience in your home.

The DLA-HD750 includes a 900 ANSI lumens, 1920x1080 Native Resolution, a 16:9 Native Aspect Ratio, a 50,000:1 Contrast Ratio and weighs 24.3 pounds. As this is a THX certified front projector, this certification states that the projector projects a wide range of video content at maximum resolution using the proper color and luminance levels.

Rating:  4.2 out of 5

Quality

The HD750's black level has improved from previous models. With the right settings and calibration, this projector provides natural colors and a very stable picture. The picture from the HD750 is rich and solid, creating an inviting cinematic world for you to enter. Set up is easy to follow and while the remote feels a bit cheap and shoddy, the backlighting helps compensate.

Features

The genuine color management system is an advancement that allows you to calibrate the hue, saturation and brightness of the six main colors in the system. The system has three memory slots where you can store your preferences for a variety of room conditions. The contrast ratio enables this JVC system to have deep black colors without dimming the brightness of any light elements found in a scene. The JVC DLA-HD750 is a very quiet projector. Even those sitting within a few feet of the projector will not be distracted by the running sounds.

Summary

The JVC DLA-HD750 projector is designed to even better than it is extraordinary predecessor. The Wire Grid optical technology creates extraordinary black levels from the D-ILA projection system. The 50,000:1 contrast rating cements JVC's place at the top of the class with this projector. The color management system allows you to control the color hue, brightness and saturation and to store those settings. While the color system is not as sophisticated as some projectors or as easy to use, the JVC DLA-HD750 offers quite a brilliant picture. This projector is at the top of its class.
