Klipsch F-1: Review
If you are looking to upgrade your current surround sound speakers to something with more substance than your average speaker, then you may want to check out the Klipsch F-1 loudspeakers. These speakers provide the same sound quality as its much larger F-2 siblings, yet affordable enough for the home theater geek looking to upgrade to something with more sound power. Those looking for speakers that can deliver better sound quality than their budget friendly mini-speakers will be impressed with what the F-1's have to offer.

Measuring 36-" x 8-" x 13.5-" and weighing 40 lbs, they offer audiophiles powerful, detailed bass while being able to deliver high volume levels with minimal distortion. With Bass Reflex that uses a front firing port enclosure, the F-1's can handle 100W of power (400W peak) with a sensitivity of 93 dB at 2.83 volts. These speakers also have a frequency response of 38Hz to 23 kHz.

Rating:  3.8 out of 5

Features

With a market that is full of mini-speakers that are supposed to be heard and not seen, Klipsch has turned the market on its head by offering quality performance in not your standard sized box. These speakers come equipped with a 1-" aluminum dome tweeter, a 5-" 90 x 60 Tractrix Horn and a 6.5-" magnetically shielded woofer provide quality, Klipsch sound to those who may be on a budget. This setup allows the speaker to deliver quality full range sound that can handle the audio gamut ranging from digital music to full theater quality surround sound. These speakers also offer bi-wire connectivity offering users a choice of wiring options.

Performance

The F-1's provides the performance home theater aficionados have come to expect from Klipsch. The speakers are built to last with an exterior that can handle nearly anything. While they can take their fair share of abuse, the finish is not impervious to damage and should still be handled with care. Bass performance does well, but these speakers should not be considered as a substitute for a subwoofer. While bass performance will suffice for music or TV watching, if you want to experience near theater quality sound in your home, make sure you spend the extra cash and add a comparable subwoofer to your home theater setup. These speakers can also perform well at high volume. This allows you to enjoy your favorite movie or music artist as loud as your like with minimal distortion. Audio is as crisp and clear as it was meant to be.

Summary

In conclusion, those who are looking for a quality set of speakers that offer a stage presence while providing quality sound will be impressed with what the Klipsch F-1 has to offer. Offering users quality sound with decent bass performance, these budget friendly speakers provide quality sound without breaking the bank. If you are looking for your speakers to handle more power than these speakers are rated for, then the F-1's may not be the way to go.
