The Lenovo IdeaPad U350 2963-47U is a new 13.3" widescreen LED laptop from Lenovo. Built for all-around use, the IdeaPad U350 features an Intel Pentium Dual-Core SU4100 processor running at 1.3GHz, 3GB of DDR3 ram and a 320GB hard drive. The LED widescreen display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 and the system uses an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500. Other features include Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit operating system, an industry standard touchpad interface, an 8-cell lithium ion battery and built-in WiFi wireless as well as wired Ethernet. The IdeaPad also features an HDMI output port, high speed USB 2.0 ports, a built-in webcam and microphone and Lenovo's exclusive 1-button restore, which allows you to return the laptop to its original factory software configuration at the touch of a button.
FeaturesThe IdeaPad U350 has a good feature set for its street price. The processor, ram and hard drive are about the same as the comparably priced competition, as are the connectivity options. The LED display panel is a little unusual at this price point, however, a big plus. The brightness of the LED screen far exceeds that of traditional LCD displays. Another nice feature is the 1-button software restore, which is useful if you get infected with one of those impossible to remove viruses - just make sure you have backups of your data and any programs you've installed. PerformanceThe IdeaPad U350 delivers adequate performance for this price point. The dual-core Pentium processor and X4500 GMA provide relatively good multimedia performance, but this is no graphics powerhouse for gaming. It does, however, feature Dolby SoundRoom sound, which is a nice bonus. It's one of the better sounding laptops in its price range. The performance is more than adequate for a general-purpose notebook and it has most of the connectivity options you're likely to need. The 8-cell lithium battery is a nice plus as well. SummaryIf you're in the market for a general-purpose notebook, the Lenovo IdeaPad U350 makes a good choice. The LED screen is a big plus - you'll be amazed at the bright and vivid image quality when compared to an LCD screen. Most of the other features, with the exception of the Dolby sound, are just about average for this price point. Pros
