Similar to other units in the Triton family the 2000 wears an added silver handle on top which makes is great for attaching with a carabineer if you so choose.
FeaturesThe Triton 2000 contains a wide range of features that you would normally not expect to find on a portable GPS unit. With a video recorder, voice recorder and a 2mega-pixel camera, these three features can be combined and with the assistance of the tracking and waypoint system, you can take a picture of a point and add a note while the unit will remember it as a waypoint so you can come back to it at a later point in your travels. The built in camera won't replace a high end digital camera but works great for taking quick shots of nature, without having to carry a separate camera. It also has a SD card slot which can take up to a 4GB card which makes it great for uploading additional maps or to hold some of your most prized MP3s for your listening pleasure. The Triton 2000 also comes packaged with the Vantage point software which is a map and content management application. This software is easy to use and easy to upgrade. It can be used to upload additional detailed maps, pre-plan waypoints or can be used to update the Triton 2000's firmware which makes it a great companion for the Triton 2000. PerformanceThe Triton 2000 performs great right out of the box, and is ready to go in 10 minutes after loading the drivers and included software to your pc. Now that you are up and running, the Triton 2000 comes with the SiRF Star III GPS receiver chipset which has an accuracy of 3 meters using wide area augmentation. The high sensitivity of this chipset is a must for obtaining your location, especially in low signal strength areas such as canyons, ravines or heavily wooded areas. This is a must for the on the go outdoors men. The Triton 2000 also meets the IPX-7 standard for waterproofing.
