Performance

The Outback 8x21 RC I performs quite well given its small size. With 8x magnification and an objective diameter of 22mm, the Outback 8x21 RC I provides the performance of its heavier counterparts, but in a much smaller and lighter package. The Outback 8x21 RC I utilizes a roof prism with a central focus focusing system that provides a field of view of 324 feet at 1000 yards. The Outback 8x21 RC I also offers an real angular field of view of 6.2, an apparent angular field of view of 49.6 and a close focus distance of 7.2 feet which is great in comparison to is much larger, lesser field of view counterparts. The only downside is that these binoculars are not waterproof. Since they are only designed for casual use, use during inclement weather can possibly cause the lenses to fog possibly rendering them ineffective.

Ergonomics

Unlike other binoculars in its size range, the Outback 8x21 RC I is small enough to fold up neatly into the palm of your hand, with a compact size that can rivals that of a small cell phone.
