Samsung P400: Review
If you are in the market for an ultraportable digital video projector, but don't want to spend upwards of thousands of dollars, then the Samsung P400 DLP Data Projector may be for you. While it's not the best model available for business use, the P400 is great for the occasional use in both home and office. Featuring the latest DLP and LED technology, this projector provides a great picture for half the price of other models. Whether for watching movies or giving brief presentations, you can be assured that this Samsung will get the job done.

Measuring at just 5.81-" x 2.54-" x 5.73-", the P400 weighs a mere 2 lbs. This is one of the most lightweight and portable digital projectors available on the market. Despite its small size, this DLP is able to project a bright 800 x 600 (SVGA) image using only 3 LED modules. While 150 ANSI lumens may not sound like enough for any image, this projector uses the latest magnification technology to make the most of the LED lamps. And with a lamp life of up to 30,000 hours (eco-mode), you can be assured that the Samsung P400 DLP Projector will give you your money's worth for a very long time.

Rating:  4.6 out of 5

Value

Many high-quality projectors cost thousands of dollars, but the Samsung P400 is an exception. With such a long lamp life, bright display (1000:1 contrast ratio), and sharp picture, this model comes as a big surprise to many users. Though it lacks the fancier features of more expensive projectors, the P400 does a fine job at projecting crisp images onto a blank wall or screen. Of course, daytime viewing is limited because of the LED lumens, but this model is great for darkened rooms or nighttime viewing. Typically, home users purchase the P400 compared to business users because business users prefer a projector with more features.

Ergonomics

Despite having a power supply the size of a brick (nearly as big as the projector itself), the P400 is streamlined for ultra-portability and versatility. Rarely do you find a DLP projector as good as this model in such a small size. The P400's sleek surface makes it look like it actually belongs in your home or office. And because this model is so light and compact, it easy to pack and travel with for business trips and presentations on the go.

Summary

Overall, the Samsung P400 DLP Projector is an excellent value and should be seriously considered for those on a budget. While it does not provide the best picture in high-light situation, it is perfect for viewing movies or playing video games in darkened environments or at night. This model is also great for parties, because it features a built-in speaker for playing music or voice audio. The P400 comes with an A/V port and D-sub port (PC) so that you can attach game consoles and other composite devices without a hassle. While its power supply is quite bulky, the digital projector itself is quite small and stylish, yet portable and powerful. If you are looking for a great-valued DLP projector, but you don't want to upgrade to more expensive models, then the Samsung P400 DLP Projector may be for you.
