The built in speakers are crisp and offer good sound and the 1080p resolution is perfect for HD viewing. The two HDMI inputs allow for multiple devices such as Blu-ray or HD satellite to be connected. The onboard processor provides effective noise reduction but the image could have better black levels. I did like the remote better than previous models.
QualitySamsung has been providing quality televisions for years now and the Samsung PN50A550 TV does not disappoint. The color is accurate and the overall picture quality is excellent. As plasma TVs are subject to image burn with some long-term situations, this TV has an adjustable pixel shift that reduces this issue. ValueFor the price, this 50 inch model is a good value and Samsung didn't skimp on the features. The super glossy screen provides a great picture (although it reflects ambient light) and has a native 1080p resolution which models of a similar pricing may not provide. The menu options for adjusting the picture settings are also easy to use. The input bay is fairly well stocked and includes HDMI (3), USB, DVI, component, S-Video, RF and composite inputs. It also has a headphone jack usually not seen on larger televisions. SummarySamsung has been challenging the competition for the last decade and now is positioning itself as a major player in consumer electronics. A glossy casing with a futuristic base, good mounting options and well hidden speakers make this a beautiful TV. Pros
