The LC26DV22U also features the standard connectivity options including HDMI, component video, S-video, composite video, and PC VGA inputs. The unit has an optical digital audio output, uses a 16:9 image aspect ratio and features 2 built-in 5W stereo speakers. Picture quality is excellent, and the unit also features a 3:2 pulldown function for correcting frame rates in movies converted from film.
ValueThe LC26DV22U is a little higher priced than most of its 26 inch competition, but the included DVD player makes up for the difference. It has all the same features as the competition, produces excellent quality 720p HDTV, and has plenty of input connections for use with all of your video devices. It represents a solid value for the money. The display brightness is excellent under all lighting conditions, and the unit is small enough that it won't take over most rooms. PerformanceWhile the video quality is excellent, the audio quality is quite poor for a unit that might be used as a second set (i.e. without a surround system). The sound output is low, and if there's much background noise you may have problem hearing it. But if you plan to couple this unit with a surround system, or add some external speakers, then the video quality more than makes up for the poor audio performance. SummaryWhile it certainly won't give you a home theater experience straight out of the box, the LC26DV22U represents a good value for the money. If you're looking for a medium-sized widescreen HDTV, and you have a surround system or some extra speakers you can use with it, then the LC26DV22U definitely deserves a look. The built-in DVD player is convenient, and the image quality is excellent. Pros
