ValueNotebooks featuring Intel's new Core i7 processor are just starting to show up, and most are priced higher than the Satellite A505. At its street price, it represents an excellent value in a multimedia or gaming notebook. The new 2.8GHz processor, 4GB of DDR3 ram, high-end NVIDIA graphics and 16" 1366 x 768 HD-ready display are all comparable to the competition, at a price that's $200-300 less. And there are enough connectivity options and other features to make this an excellent choice in an all-around notebook, too. FeaturesThe Satellite A505 is strong on features as well as value and performance. It has all of the connectivity options one would want; plenty of performance features and is small and lightweight for a 16" notebook. The keyboard features a separate numeric keypad, which helps makes this a possible desktop replacement. About the only complaints when compared to the competition are lack of a fingerprint reader, which is becoming a standard feature on higher-end laptops, and lack of Bluetooth connectivity, which is also becoming a standard. SummaryWhether you're in the market for an all-around powerhouse notebook, or need one for multimedia applications or gaming, the Toshiba Satellite A505-S6033 makes an excellent choice at its street price. Its packed with features and uses the latest technology available (except for an LED display - you'll still need to pay more for this). All in all an excellent offering from Toshiba. Pros
