If you are a student or home user who happens to be a fan of Toshiba, then you will definitely want to check out the Toshiba Satellite T235-S1370 Notebook. While it may not be the most cost-friendly solution for many consumers, overall it is a well-designed notebook that fits nicely in the mainstream market. Touted as the highest-level laptop in the Toshiba T230 Series, this model offers an average combination of features and performance at a sub-$1000 price tag. Measuring approximately 12.70" x 8.80" x 0.70" and weighing just under 4 pounds, this notebook surprisingly lacks the features seen in competing laptops. For the price, yes it is a good value for a Toshiba product. But if you find yourself need functions such as a CD/DVD drive or Bluetooth, then you will need to check out other options. That being said, owners of the T235-S1370 are generally happy with their purchase, so do not disregard this notebook right away.
FeaturesThe Toshiba T235-S1370 is a well-designed laptop, but for the price we expected a few more features. The notebook lacks a modem, Bluetooth capability, and any type of optical drive, among other things. While this model is certainly much more affordable than others, it still doesn't pack as much "bang-for-the-buck" as other notebooks. The T235-S1370 comes with an Intel Pentium Processor U5400, supported by 4GB DDR3 RAM, and a 320GB hard drive. The system is operated by Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) and the integrated Intel graphics engine. There is wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n, Ethernet, media card slot, HDMI port, and 2 USB ports (one eSATA).. ErgonomicsVisually, this notebook is impressive, thanks to its fusion chrome finish in Gemini black. The vivid 13.3-inch LED-backlight display is especially great for watching your favorite multimedia. As far as user friendliness goes, the T235-S1370 offers a streamlined experience, despite its lack of power. Speaking of power, you should be aware of the power drain this notebook may have. Battery life is up to 6.93 hours, but needless to say the battery loses some of its charge on a daily basis. So if you plan to be away from a power outlet for extended periods, you may need to look elsewhere. SummaryConsidering the plethora of pre-installed software and excellent customer support, the Toshiba T235-S1370 is great for users who want a trusted-brand notebook. Unfortunately, it seems to lack many features that the majority of users find important, so this model falls short of expectations. Compared to the prices of other Toshiba laptops, this one is very reasonable. But if you need a faster processor, better graphics, and any kind of CD or DVD drive, then you will need to look at a different notebook. The T235-S1370 is not a complete disappointment; however, there is plenty of room for improving. Pros
